We value community involvement and volunteering.
Over the past decade, lawyer Lisa Middlemiss has been a dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association (CBA)’s immigration law section, both provincially and nationally.
Lisa served as Vice President of the CBA Quebec’s immigration law section (2016-2018) and subsequently, as the section’s President (2018-2020).
Today, Lisa remains an active member of the CBA Quebec’s immigration law section executive committee.
For four years, Lisa was a table officer of the CBA’s national immigration law section (2020-2024), having been elected as Secretary/Communications Officer, becoming Vice-President, President and immediate Past President.
Lisa is an active Honorary member of the CBA’s national immigration law section executive committee.

In her role as President of the CBA’s national immigration law section, Lisa orchestrated the advocacy and work of the section. She created the section’s CBA Pro Bono responses to the humanitarian crises in Afghanistan and Ukraine by mobilizing other immigration lawyers to provide free legal advice, an initiative which has since been expanded to other humanitarian crises.

Lisa Middlemiss has co-authored a Canadian immigration and citizenship law book with lawyer Amandeep Hayer entitled, Maintaining Permanent Residence Status and Acquiring Citizenship which is published by Emond.
Lisa is a member of AQAADI (Association québécoise des avocats et avocates en droit de l’immigration), a local immigration lawyers association in the Province of Quebec.
