Lisa Middlemiss, Principal Lawyer
Lisa Middlemiss opened the doors of Middlemiss Immigration Law in September 2024. Previously, she worked at a leading boutique immigration law firm in Montreal as a lawyer since she was called to the Quebec Bar in August 2013, becoming a law partner at the firm. Lisa has been practising in Canadian immigration and citizenship law ever since. Bilingual in English and French, she serves corporate and individual clients across Canada for their diverse Canadian immigration law needs. Whether it be helping a multinational company with a Work Permit application for their executive or assisting a couple with their Spousal Sponsorship application, Lisa thrives in the varied nature of her practice.
For the last decade, Lisa has been actively involved with the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). She initially served as vice-president and then president of the Quebec Branch of the CBA’s Immigration Law Section. Subsequently, Lisa was elected as a table officer of the CBA’s National Immigration Law Section’s executive, holding the lock-step positions of secretary/communications officer, vice-chair, chair, and immediate past chair.
Before completing her civil law and common law degrees at McGill University, Lisa worked for the International Policy and Agreements Division of Human Resources and Social Development Canada in Ottawa, which gave her an appreciation for the civil service.
Lisa enjoys running in all seasons. She appreciates a good pastry and other culinary delights that the City of Montreal offers.

Sejeong Park, Associate Lawyer
Sejeong Park is an Associate Lawyer with Middlemiss Immigration Law. Sejeong advises businesses and their employees on corporate immigration matters involving persons seeking to relocate to Canada. She also assists clients with various permanent residence applications including family sponsorships, humanitarian and compassionate, and economic immigration for applicants destined to Quebec or another province in Canada, as well as citizenship applications. Sejeong enjoys keeping up to date with changes in immigration procedures and law. She provides assistance to recent graduates regarding their Canadian immigration needs. In addition, she has experience in temporary residence permit and rehabilitation applications for individuals who would normally be inadmissible to Canada.
Sejeong has practiced immigration law ever since she was called to the Quebec Bar in August 2023. Prior to joining Middlemiss Immigration Law, Sejeong worked at a leading Canadian immigration law firm as a lawyer after completing her articling.
Sejeong is fluent in English and French. She is a native Korean speaker and has an intermediate advanced level of Spanish.
Sejeong is the mother of two guinea pigs and an avid plant lover. She practices yoga on a daily basis and loves walking, especially in parks and in the mountains.

Anika Della-Cioppa, Law Student
Anika Della-Cioppa is a law student at the Faculty of Law at McGill University, where she is completing the B.C.L./J.D. program. She is particularly interested in immigration and human rights law, fields that allow her to combine rigorous legal analysis with a deep commitment to supporting individuals and communities.
Before beginning her legal studies, Anika graduated from McGill in 2023 with distinction, earning a Joint Honours Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Development Studies. Her academic background, paired with meaningful volunteer experiences, has shaped her dedication to helping people navigate complex immigration systems with clarity, empathy, and diligence.
Outside of law, Anika enjoys baking and sampling Montréal’s vibrant food scene — always on the hunt for the next great croissant. She brings that same mix of curiosity and attention to detail to her legal work.

Woojin Kwon
Legal Assistant
Woojin is a Legal Assistant at Middlemiss Immigration Law, where he assists with all administrative tasks, from drafting forms to organizing client and file information. He is currently studying political science and economics at McGill University. Passionate about how law can improve people’s lives, Woojin finds immigration law a particularly rewarding and meaningful field. Outside of his studies and work, he enjoys watching baseball games and is interested in contemporary Korean history.

Maria-Vera is a Law Clerk at Middlemiss Immigration Law. She graduated magna cum laude from the Dual BA program between Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University in 2025, earning two degrees in political humanities and human rights. Having lived and studied abroad, she brings an empathetic and internationally informed perspective to her work in immigration law. In her free time, she enjoys arts and crafts, weightlifting, and cooking elaborate meals.

Benjamin Merrill
Associate Lawyer
Benjamin Merrill is an Associate Lawyer at Middlemiss Immigration Law, where he helps individuals and businesses navigate Canadian immigration and citizenship processes. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2026 and brings experience articling at a leading Toronto immigration firm, as well as prior roles as a refugee officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon.
Drawing on both his professional background and personal immigration journey, Ben approaches his work with empathy, clarity, and a strong commitment to his clients.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, hiking the trails of Northern Ontario, and kayaking on the province’s beautiful lakes.

Hannah Reaburn
Associate Lawyer
Hannah enjoys assisting individual and corporate clients navigate Canadian immigration processes, and accompanying individuals in their applications for Canadian citizenship by descent and by grant. Hannah was called to the Ontario Bar in 2025, after completing her articles with the federal public service, where she worked as legal counsel before joining Middlemiss Immigration Law.
Hannah brings public law knowledge from her experience working in human rights, criminal, and administrative law contexts. She has worked in advisory, litigation, and research environments.
Beyond her legal practice, Hannah is an avid fan of the performing arts and loves the vibrant dance and theatre scene in Montreal. She has visited almost every province and territory in Canada (the Yukon is next!) and is thrilled to share her enthusiasm for exploring Canada with her clients.
